Proud… Really?
While browsing LinkedIn, I’ve noticed that a great number of posts begin with phrases such as:
“I’m proud to have accomplished this…” or “I’m proud to be part of that…”
It made me wonder:
Are these authors genuinely proud, or has it simply become a common way of expressing themselves?
Is being proud of oneself actually a healthy state of mind?
In Christian tradition, for example, pride has long been considered one of the seven deadly sins, placed alongside gluttony, greed, and wrath.
So what does it truly mean to be proud of oneself?
Is it healthy self-esteem?
A legitimate sense of accomplishment?
Or does it sometimes cross the line into vanity and ego?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
